Was just perusing the internet highway for competitive link analysis and found something quite interesting…

Now I’ve tried to look up whether Simply Jobs are owned by Total Jobs and vice versa but haven’t been able to find anything (If it does come to light that this is correct then I’m more of an idiot than I thought). The Simply Jobs about page (http://www.simplygroup.net/about/) and the Total Jobs about page (http://www.totaljobs.com/Content/AboutUs.html) indicate that this is unlikely.

Anyway whilst checking out Total Jobs link profile I found the page http://www.simplygroup.net/sites.php It all looks pretty kosher with Simply Jobs discussing their great website offerings. I scrolled the page and couldn’t find anything to do with Total Jobs found it a bit weird but thought maybe it was a problem with the tool I was using.

Just before closing the page I thought that I would check the source code of the page to double check that there was no link and to my surprise I found the following:

As far as I’m concerned I’m taking a guess at the following possibilities:

1. Simply Jobs are owned by Total Jobs (or vice versa) and this has been made in error
2. There is/was a disgruntled web designer/developer who decided to purposely add a link to Total Jobs instead of Simply PR Jobs
3. Someone to do with Total Jobs hacked the Simply Jobs website to add a link
