after last weekend’s panda 3.whatever I’m seeing exact match domains even more. I think one of the big benefits is you can’t really get knocked for having exact match anchor text because it’s your “brand.” So while other’s may get “dampened” for too much targeted anchor text, the exact match domain won’t because it’s their damn site and expected. So yea…still works here.

I’ve no doubt that EKDs work. But when a client has already got an established domain, backlinks and content, I find it hard to judge whether a new site from scratch is going to cost less effort for the rankings than working on the old site. Most of the time I’ve ended up sticking with the assets that are there and working on them. ‘S a tough one.

In reply to Best Looking Man In The World. Exact match domains work, but it's not really worth it unless you have a niche really worth going after. Lots of people use exact match domains for the quick win, but don't realize with a decent silo of content they can rank for it, and other things as well on a larger domain. Exact matches are limiting IMO, but yes they still work...

I disagree. Exact match domains do not work. That’s why over at bestlookingmanintheworld.com we work really, really hard to get top 10 rankings for our primary keywords, WITHOUT the benefit of an exact mat-er….uh… wait, nevermind. Carry on.

Keyword domains knock the shit out of SERPS. It’s common sense the first place the bots see is the domain name , back up with rock solid industry leading cOntent , quality and quantity. Good solid link building = win
